This course is intended to equip the student with competencies to make an initial assessment of a casualty and recognize a range of signs and symptoms associated with accidents and medical emergencies in the community.

COURSE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the course the trainee should be able to:

  • Handle emergency and monitor a conscious victim for life and life threatening conditions
  • Prioritize care for life threatening injuries or sudden illness
  • Manage different types of emergencies and injuries.
  • Practice basic precautions to reduce the risk of disease transmission and control external bleeding.
