Introduction

This module unit is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/her apply the nutrition and dietetics principles in management of diseases and good health.

General objectives

By the end of the module unit, the trainee should be able to

a.       Explain the meaning of terms used in nutrition and dietetics

b.      Explain the importance of nutrition in human health

c.       Describe the standards and ethics of professional conduct in nutrition and dietetics practice

d.      Use diet and nutrition in disease management
