TRANSPORT ENGINEERING II

Transport Engineering is the study of Transportation system. A lot of emphasis is given to the road and accessories.

This module unit is intended to equip the trainee with skills and attitudes necessary for the design and construction of transportation systems.

The trainee taking this module unit should have completed the Transportation Engineering I module unit.

34.3.3 General Objectives

By the end of this module unit, the trainee should be able to:

a)     Understand the principles of construction of transport systems.

b)     Acquire knowledge of material selection and stabilization.

c)      understand principles of railway work

d)     understand the process of dredging

e)     appreciate need for maintenance of transportation system elements

f)       apply labour based methods for construction of rural access roads
