Introduction.
Sociology is a social science whose study helps understand the relationship between people as in and as groups and the influence of social conditions in these relationships.
The purpose of teaching sociology is to social development the trainees is to introduce them to sociologic issues which are considered relevant to understand social problems and social change in society.
General Objectives.
At the end of this subject the trainees should be able to.
-identify the various sociological concepts explain the behaviors of individuals,groups and communities.
-understand and explain the concept of social organization.
- identify various social structures in a society.
- identify the various social processes that an individual is subjected to in a society.
-acquire general knowledge of sociological nature that explain human behaviour.
-identify major social problems in Kenya.
-identify the various elements of culture and explain how they are passed on in society.
