Introduction

This module unit is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes in handling food safety and ensure that it remains safe for consumption.

General Objectives

By the end of the unit, the trainee should be able to;

a.       Acquire knowledge and skills required to handle food safety

b.      Demonstrate the ability to handle and store foods in hygienic environment

c.       Identify food borne illnesses and the associated hazards

d.      Carry out inspection of food facilities

e.       Demonstrate hygienic food handling procedures
