The module unit is designed to equip the trainee with knowledge,skills and attitudes necessary  to use drawing  principles in the design,preparation,interpretation and implementation of typical drawings used in building  construction. 

General  objectives

by the end of the module unit, the trainee should be able to;

a) use drawings as a means of communication 

b) interpret working drawings prepared for implementation 

c) prepare working  drawings


The module unit is designed to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to use drawing principles in the design, preparation,  interpretation, and implementation of typical drawing used in building and construction.

The module unit is designed to equip the trainee with skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable him/ her to appreciate and apply safe working conditions on site and masonry works
By the end of this module unit, the trainee should be able to:
  1. Prepare workshop layouts
  2. Observe safety, health and welfare in a construction site
  3. Source, purchase and store materials for construction
  4. Apply appropriate site and office procedures

This course aims at the fundamentals of Chemistry and Physics (basis for for practical application in building and civil engineering works).

This module is designed to equip the trainee with the basic principles of Chemistry and Physics applicable in craft certificate


By the end of the course the trainee should be able to:

  • Acquire skills required in problem solving in design and construction of buildings.
  • Apply the principles of architectural design.
  • Develop positive attitude towards practical work.
  • Acquire foundation for further training in the building industry.
  • Observe safety in work place.
