This course is intended to equip the learner with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her to have good interpersonal relations in a working environment.


GENERAL OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, the learner should be able to:

a) recognize the importance of human relations in a working environment

b) relate human relations to productivity levels

c) demonstrate an understanding of the role of public relations in a business set up

d) acquire the necessary background knowledge for further studies in human relations and related disciplines

e) demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles and techniques applied in dealing with public relations problems

Educational research has a strong tradition of employing state-of-the-art statistical techniques. Because of this tradition, Quantitative Methods has long been an area of specialization within Educational Psychology.

Quantitative techniques emphasizes the following four objectives:

  • To develop a strong foundation in mathematics and statistical theory as the basis for growth over a professional career.
  • To develop a high level of expertise in the application of statistics or psychometrics to educational research.
  • To develop the ability to serve as a consultant to educational researchers, and to employ the appropriate quantitative methods in a wide variety of contexts.
  • To develop the capability of conducting and publishing high-quality methodological research.
