This course aims at equipping the trainees about the different engineering materials used in the workshop and engineering practices as well as the various methods used to manufacture them. By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to identify and explain the different concepts, principles, and aspects related to engineering materials.

The trainee needs to ensure that he or she has covered the following topics by the end of this course:

1. Materials (Propertires of engineering materials)

2. General Safety (Fire)

3. Materials (Production of Steel & Heat Treatments of steel, Surface Heat Treatment of steels, and Annealing process)

4. Tools and Equipment

5. Measuring tools

6. Materials (Plastics)

7. Materials and Processes 1

8. Materials and Processes 2

This module unit has been designed to equip the trainee with the knowledge and skills for the selection, treatment and application of engineering materials. The module content also exposes the trainees to various methods of improving the properties of metals by heat treatment methods.

Materials technology and metallurgy is the study of engineering materials and their applications in mechanical engineering field of foundry technology. These engineering materials include metals, ceramics, organics, composites, and semi conductors. The study involves the composition of materials their production processes and their mechanical and physical properties.

This course is geared towards giving the students the skills on vehicle body repair and body refinish. At the end of the training, the students must have a hands on ability to carry out any relevant work related to vehicle body.

fabrication technology is the design, fabrication and constructions of a rigid support members for various applications. The course is all about fabrication of a component in a workshop with the use of workshop tools and equipment.
